Even though Chelvis turned down a chance to light the Olympic flame at the opening ceremonies in Beijing (he had a scheduled teeth cleaning that he couldn’t miss), he graciously accepted an offer to be the star of the closing ceremonies. As the “Main Flame”, he was one of 2000 human flames forming the Olympic torch in a dazzling display. But even though the flame moved as one, most eyes were fixed on Chelvis who amongst the sea of bodies had the pronounced hip wiggle and was easily picked out of the crowd.
Below is a picture of his rise to Olympic history and the throngs of adoring fans that surrounded him at the media day.

China has made their own brand of the Wiggles, the popular Australian kid’s group. Dubbed, The Chiggles, these Chinese Wiggles were getting ready to kick off their international tour.

Among his 3 song set: a rousing rendition of “Hands Across America”

Judge Scott Eiseman released this statement to the press, “…although Chelvis’ voice is subpar, and his reputation less than desirable, I feel that this show is important to the American people and it should be broadcasted as a warning to troubled teens across the country as to what self-mockery could do for one’s self-esteem.”
